Over two inches of snow fell at Nub’s early this morning! The steep front side slopes were groomed before this snow and we will not be grooming these runs, so enjoy the powder! The Nub’s Grooming Crew will re-groom some of our beginner and intermediate runs this morning which will make for fantastic conditions. The temperature should stay just below freezing today and conditions continue to be excellent. We are 100% open with all 53 runs. The lifts will spin from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.

A strong southwest wind will usher in warmer temperatures today. The forecast is calling for a high near 28 degrees today. It’s another clear, cold and beautiful day at Nub’s Nob. The forecast is calling for climbing temperatures all day long. Tomorrow we should see temperatures back into the mid 20’s. Conditions on all 53 of our runs and XC trails continue to be excellent. Bundle up this morning for cold temperatures. The snow is in great shape, the wind is light and the sun is forecasted to come out. We are 100% open with all 53 runs. Conditions on our groomed runs, glades and XC trails continue to be excellent. The lifts will spin from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today we will shut down to groom and open for night skiing from 6 to 10 p.m. Race #1 of the Volkl/Marker/Dalbello Speed Series is tonight with GS on Valley. Racing begins at 7 p.m.; sign-up at the Front Desk before 6:15 p.m. Race awards compliments of Petoskey Brewing, The US Ski Hall of Fame and Richard Wagner.

The Nordic Ski Series meets in the Brown Bagger at 6:15 p.m. every Wednesday night. The series is a chance to improve your XC ski technique and enjoy the trails with fellow skinny skiers.

MERRY CHRISTMAS- POWDER DAY!!! Nub’s Nob received a Christmas gift of over 14″ of lake effect snow since yesterday! The Nub’s Grooming Crew left powder on the steep front side slopes. The guys are working to groom the beginner and some intermediate terrain this morning. The lifts will spin from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today. Santa Claus will also be skiing with the kids today from 1 to 3 p.m. on our FREE beginner area at the Purple chairlift.

The lifts will spin from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today. NASTAR racing is on Birch Run on Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Santa Claus will also be skiing with the kids on Christmas Day from 1 to 3 p.m. on our FREE beginner area at the Purple chairlift. The Deli at Pintail Peak is also open this weekend.

Nub’s is open with 53 runs starting Friday, December 22. Pintail Peak and the Big Terrain Park both open today! The Park Crew has built one of the most creative and interesting set-ups we have ever witnessed at Nub’s Nob. If you are a park rider Nub’s is the place to be with large snow features and tons on interesting options for transitions. You will have to see this terrain park for yourself.

Pintail Peak is also open today and conditions are fantastic. This weekend is a great time to grab your family and head to Nub’s Nob before Christmas to enjoy some great skiing on all of our slopes and trails.

A small amount of natural snow fell at Nub’s last night. This dusting of natural snow will improve conditions and today looks like an excellent ski day with comfortable temperatures and light wind. We are open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with all of our front and south side slopes (with the exception of the big park). The Big Park will open by Saturday and this is one of our most interesting builds in years. If you like to ride the park you will be impressed with the huge snow features. Our award winning Snow Crew is working around the clock preparing Pintail Peak. We plan to open the Pintail Area on Friday. This will bring our slope total to 53 and we will be 100% open.

Yesterdays mild thaw has passed and it’s back to winter at Nub’s Nob. We are open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with all of our front and south side slopes (with the exception of the big park). The Park Crew is making rapid progress on the park build and we hope to open our big park this Saturday. Our award winning Snow Crew is working around the clock preparing Pintail Peak. We plan to open the Pintail Area on Friday. This will bring our slope total to 53 and we will be 100% open.

With the temperature just above freezing today expect slightly soft snow with excellent edge hold. Yesterdays fog has lifted and today should be a great day for carving turns at Nub’s Nob. It’s another great ski day at Nub’s Nob! The temperature is forecasted to be very comfortable today and the grooming is stellar. The lifts will spin from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today. Nearly all the the front side and south side slopes are open with the exception of the Big Park (which is under construction).

Thanks to a 12 day cold spell and a massive effort by our world class Snow Crew we turned off the guns yesterday at noon. This snowmaking effort has left us with huge piles of snow on Pintail Peak. Our grooming Crew is working to prepare these slopes as we anticipate being 100% open on all 53 of our runs by this coming weekend!

Winter has arrived at Nub’s Nob!

It’s a beautiful day at Nub’s Nob! We are adding even more runs today as the Tower Glades open and they are still full of snow! NASTAR racing continues today on Birch Run from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Conditions are like the middle of winter, so come on out and make some turns today. YAHOOO!!!

USSA racing is on Scarface today. Watch top skiers compete in slalom today right at the bottom of the race course.

 

Over a foot of snow fell at Nub’s between Friday morning and early afternoon! The fresh snow and the work of our world class Snow Crew will allow us to open nearly all of Nub’s front side and south side slopes. The south side glades are in excellent shape and full of snow. Head to Nub’s for incredible ski conditions and tons of open terrain. Our Snow Crew is working on Pintail Peak and we hope to be 100% in the near future!

Nub’s Nob received a dumping of snow early this morning! There is 8″ of fluffy lake effect powder everywhere. This was a highly localized snow storm. It’s a true powder day so get here early if you want to make fresh tracks. Lifts open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. YAHOOO!!!

 

The entire south side will open tomorrow. Smokey is open to USSA racers only this morning.

Nub’s Nob is now open for skiing and riding everyday of the season. The lifts will be spinning from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Night skiing begins on December 26th.  The entire front side is open on Thursday and Friday (with the exception of the Terrain Park). The south side will open on Saturday. Conditions are excellent and now is a great time to head for Nub’s Nob.

It’s a snowmakers paradise at Nub’s this morning. The temperature is 10 degrees and wind is light; to a snowmaker this means full power snow production. The Nub’s Crew is pouring snow into the terrain park and moving the majority of our water to Pintail Peak. We will be open daily beginning Thursday, Dec. 14th from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We plan to have the majority of the front side slopes open and most of the south side slopes will open on Saturday morning. The cross country trails are all groomed and it feels like the middle of winter at Nub’s Nob.

We will be hosting a USSA race on Smokey this Friday and on Scarface for Saturday and Sunday. Conditions should be excellent so grab your crew and head for Nub’s Nob.

It’s a cold and windy morning at Nub’s Nob and our world class Snow Crew is laying into this cold spell with focused intensity. Nub’s also received 4″ of natural snow since yesterday morning. We plan to open on Thursday, December 14th for the season. We hope to have most of the front side open on Thursday and Friday and add the south side by Saturday morning. Our hours will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Winter has arrived at Nub’s! YAHOOO!!!

The Nub’s Snow Crew is running at full throttle. The mercury dipped into the teens overnight and it is predicted to stay very cold for the next few days. The Crew is taking full advantage and have finished most of the work on the front side slopes and they are focusing efforts on the south side. Nub’s Nob will open for the season on Thursday, December 14th. The lifts will be spinning daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Night skiing will begin on December 26th. We plan to have most of the front side slopes open and most of the south side slopes open by Saturday.

Conditions are very good and this weekends forecast is looking awesome for skiing and riding.

It feels like the middle of winter at Nub’s Nob. We have 10 runs open today including two glades, a premiere black diamond, long blue runs and two beginner runs that are nearly a mile long. The upper red cross country trail is power-tilled and the entire ski area is blanketed by the 16″ of snow we received this week. Expect very good skiing today. We will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and close down on Monday to focus on making more snow. We plan to open on Thursday, December 14th for the season. Winter has arrived at Nub’s! YAHOOO!!!

Three inches of fluffy snow fell at Nub’s on Friday night totaling over fifteen inches in the past week! The fresh snow along with the work of our world class Snow Crew will make for awesome skiing this weekend. We are open this Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 9 & 10). We will continue to honor the early season lift ticket rate of $40 for adults/teens/seniors and $30 for children 9 to 12 years old. We have 10 runs open with Big Time, Smokey, Smooth Sailing, Sno Pro, Easy Mile, Fun Bowl, Arena Glades, Power Line Glades, Race Arena and Valley. The Lower XC trails and Upper Red trail is also open. Winter has arrived at Nub’s Nob! YAHOOO!!!

We plan to reopen for skiing and riding this Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 9 & 10). The lodge, general store and tune center are open everyday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a great time to drop off your skis for a tune-up or check out the incredible selection of ski and board apparel in the general store. If you have not picked-up your season pass this is a great time to stop out and have your photo taken before the holiday rush.

Good News! The forecast is calling for a prolonged cold snap that should bring some natural snow. Our world-class Snow Crew is fired up and we will use this cold weather window to make as much snow as we can. Our plan is to reopen this coming weekend (Dec. 9 & 10). We will keep you updated on open terrain as we continue to build base. Give us a hand and THINK SNOW!!!
