Update for Thanksgiving Weekend

Update for Thanksgiving Weekend

As of sending this update (Wednesday morning), the weather is terrible for any purpose.  Conditions are ideal for setting up on the couch with a warm drink for a favorite movie or a good book, but that’s about it.  Fortunately, skiers have two things working in their favor:

The first is that the weather is expected to vastly improve beginning tomorrow.  We will reopen Thanksgiving Day through this Sunday with at least 10 Front Side runs.
The forecast is calling for a mostly sunny day with comfortable temperatures in the mid-30’s.  Natural snow is expected later in the weekend as well.

The second item skiers can be thankful for is the group of people we are proud to call our Crew.  Nub’s Nob often talks about the achievements of our Snow Farmers, and for good reason.  Multiple generations have built an awesome infrastructure for making snow here, most of which is invisible to the public.  Fun on the snow is our business, which is why summer projects like our new snowmaking well are top priorities.  That hardware is operated by the best Crew in the business.  That is why we can get through a warmup with so many runs open.

Everything in the system from the smallest nozzle to the pumps and compressors essentially form one massive machine, and in the hands of a remarkable team it can create a man-made maelstrom of snow.

Thanks to that team, we will be open for a beautiful, long holiday weekend.

Look to our Conditions page for the most current information.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Nub’s Nob.  We’ll see you on the slopes.
