01 Sep 2020-21 Season FAQ’s
Can I go inside? Where do I leave my stuff?
Expect to only be able to go inside to use the bathroom or possibly purchase food. All indoor spaces at Nub’s Nob will not be places to hang out this season and will have capacity restrictions. Plan to “boot up” at your car and leave all of your belongings there. We will not allow gear or food to be stored in cubbies or coin lockers in the main lodge. The reason for this is simple – if you leave something in the lodge you may not be able to retrieve it when we reach capacity.
What about Seasonal Locker Holders?
The Locker room is open to locker holders only. We ask that locker holders move directly to their lockers, get ready to ski and proceed outside. “Camping out” in the locker room will not be allowed so that we can avoid hitting capacity limits for this space. Facemasks will be required.
When will I have to wear a face covering?
Nub’s Nob will continue to follow the guidance from local and State health officials. In addition, we will adhere to the guidance from the National Ski Areas Association. At this time that means wearing a facemask indoors, in the lift loading area, on the chairlift, by the base lodge and whenever 6’ of distance cannot be maintained outdoors.
What counts as a face covering?
Anything that covers the mouth and nose without holes. As skiers and riders we are accustomed to wearing things like neck gaiters and this qualifies as a face covering.
What about XC skiing and snowshoeing?
We do not plan on any changes or mask requirements for XC skiers or snowshoers when on the trails as long as 6’ of distance is maintained.
What happens if there is no 2020-21 ski season?
If the 2020-21 ski season at Nub’s Nob does not begin we will roll over your pass purchase to the 2021-22 season.
What if the ski season is shortened?
Nub’s Nob is known for having one of the longest ski seasons in the Midwest thanks to the skill of our Snow Crew and our vast snowmaking infrastructure. That said, we never guarantee the length of our season. Historically, we have had years when our season opened late or closed early due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances. We intend to operate for the full 2020-21 winter season. However, because we do not and cannot guarantee the length of a season, we do not refund season passes.
Why not refund passes?
Nub’s Nob season passes are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. This includes but is not limited to early or temporary closures, snow conditions, weather, natural disasters, pandemics or other acts of God.
When choosing where to buy a season pass, we recommend looking at a ski area’s history over and above a written policy. A ski area may have the most generous pass refund policy in North America, but it means nothing without the snow. We will continue to focus our efforts on snowmaking and grooming at Nub’s Nob.
We highly recommend reading the fine print on pass refunds and thinking about a ski area’s history of delivering a quality product with friendly service.
Will I have fun at Nub’s Nob?
Great question! We can’t wait to see you on the slopes! We are training our staff on all the new regulations and we are confident that Nub’s Nob will run with professionalism and kindness despite the changes. We ask that you make this winter about one thing – enjoying the simple act of skiing and riding outdoors. If we all adjust our expectations this could be a very special season that we will remember with fondness. If we can’t adjust our expectations, we are bound to be disappointed.
