The very best way to learn winter sports at any age.  Private lessons give you 100% attention from your individual instructor and focus exclusively on your skills and development.  This is our most popular lesson for every sport we teach.

                                           Children's Lessons

    What's the best way to start my child skiing or snowboarding?  Private lessons!

Parents who want their kids to ski or snowboard can insure their success for years to come by starting with a private lesson. At Nub's Nob we start every child with one-on-one private instructors because those "pick-up-sticks" group lessons just don't work for young skiers or riders.

Think of teaching one 4-year-old how to catch a ball or play a musical instrument versus a group of 4-year olds. Which 4-year old learns to catch a ball or where middle C is first?

Keeping children aged 2 to 7 years old interested takes individual attention. Our goal is to create lifetime skiers and snowboarders. There is no more effective way from a learning, safety or cost standpoint than one-on-one.

Anyone 2nd grade or younger who cannot stop on command, load, ride and get off the chairlift without assistance must start with a private lesson.

Remember, the best way to guarantee a life of winter fun is to start your child one-on-one with a teacher in a Winter Sport Schools Private Lesson.  

                        Children's Private Lessons - Ski or Snowboard

Teaching kids to ski and ride one at a time - this is how every youngster at Nub's Nob gets their start. We start 'em young with their very own instructor. Hands-on, one-on-one lessons are the best and only effective way to insure that your child will ski or snowboard their entire life and do it right from the start.

Private lessons are required until your youngster can stop on command, load, ride and unload our BigTime purple double chairlift without assistance and be able to put their own equipment on. You must have an instructor with your child on the chairlift and the slopes until they can perform all stopping, turning, chairlift and equipment skills safely by themselves.

                         Nub's Ski Club - Children's Group Ski Program

                                                     New longer hours for 2008/2009.

Young skiers who can stop on command, turn, put on their own equipment, get on, ride safely and get off our BigTime purple double chairlift without assistance can ski with their buddies in Nub's Ski Club 2 1/2 hour group lessons!

Nub's Ski Club is our athletic, active skiing children's program. After their initial private lessons, where kids learn the basics of stopping and lift riding, many youngsters are ready to head out skiing and learning with new friends under the guidance of our specially trained Nub's Ski Club children's instructors.

Young skiers must be able to stop on command and get on, ride and get off our BigTime purple double chairlift without assistance to qualify to ski in the Nub's Ski Club 2 1/2 hour sessions.

Nub's Ski Club groups go out daily.  Reservations are required. Groups are no larger than approximately 5 skiers.

Parents are responsible for their children during lunchtime from 11:30 until 2:00pm if their young skiers are taking 2 sessions a day.

• Nub's Ski Club has 2 daily sessions  from 9:00 to 11:30am or 2:00 to 4:30pm

                                                       Race Clinics

• 2 hours = $29 per person

Clinics are 2-hours long and are designed for racing. This is the best way to learn to race and to improve your skills. Race Clinics are also very popular for families who want the vacation experience they never forget!

Race Clinics are held daily from December 26 through January 1 and weekends only through March 3 from 2:30 until 4:30pm.

Improve your NASTAR times and run gates for 2 hours! Labatt League racers - race clinics are for you!  If you have never raced this is where to start.

                          Learn to Ski/Introduction to Snowboard
                                                          Daily 2:00 p.m.

• Group Lesson Package - 3rd Grade through Adult only
• 1:30 p.m. Register at the Winter Sport Schools desk.  Get Equipment.
• 2:00 p.m. Lessons begin
• 1 1/2 hour group lesson
• ski/snowboard rental until 4:30 p.m.
• Free skiing/riding in the BigTime beginners area

Every day Nub's Nob is open you can learn to ski or take your first steps toward snowboarding in this group lesson package that includes all the necessary gear!

Your $39 includes all your ski/snowboard rental equipment, a 1 1/2 hour beginner group lesson with free skiing/snowboarding in the BigTime beginner area. It's for beginners only. This is the best Learn to Ski/introduction to Snowboard program in the country. It's fun. Nub's Nob is open 7 days a week from late November (weather permitting) until early April.

Daily Learn to Ski or Introduction to Snowboarding= $39

                               Learn to Ski/Introduction to Snowboard
                                                5:30 p.m. every night we're open!

• 1 1/2  hour group lesson
• Night ski/snowboard rental until 9:00 p.m (M,W,Th) or 10:00pm (F, Sa).
• Free skiing/snowboarding in the BigTime beginner area

So easy and affordable. Offered every night we're open. You start at the Winter Sport Schools desk at 5:00pm. Register, fill out the forms, then you are fit with Nordica ski boots and Rossignol skis or Head and Rossignol snowboard gear. Nub's Nob rental experts will adjust your bindings (they hold you to your skis or snowboard) to the proper size and setting. You're ready to go.

Lessons begin outside at 5:30pm.

Your $29 includes all your ski/snowboard rental equipment, a 1 1/2 hour beginner group lesson with free skiing/snowboarding in the BigTime beginner area. It's for beginners only. This is the best, and one of the most affordable, Learn to Ski/Introduction to Snowboard programs in the country. It's fun. Nub's Nob is open for night skiing Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from December 26 until March 15.
