Frequently Asked Questions - Rental Equipment

Where is the rental facility?
The rental facility is located to the left of the main lodge in the Guest Services Building.  The Rental building opens at 8:30am daily.

Do you take advance reservations for rentals?
No, we do not. We excel at personal fitting with a speedy, friendly and professional delivery.

Do I need a parent/guardian with me to rent equipment?
If you are under 18 years of age, you may bring a note from your parent/guardian stating that you have permission to rent equipment at Nub’s Nob. Have your parent/guardian sign and date the note.

Do you rent helmets?
Yes, we have expanded our rental fleet to include 400 Giro helmets. Helmets are available in all sizes.

How long may I rent equipment?
You may rent for as many consecutive days as you wish.

Do you have seasonal rentals?
No, we do not.

What do I wear?
It's best to wear long johns under ski pants versus restrictive jeans. Insulated pants should ride above the calf and not be stuffed in the ski boot. Dress in layers, and remember, cotton retains water, fleece does not. Wear ONE pair of medium-weight wool blend or synthetic socks. Ski socks are sold in the rental area for $11.00. Your hat should be snug and offer ear protection. Don't forget to round out your outfit with a neck gaiter, gloves and goggles.

What are Snowblades?
Snowblades are about half the size of traditional skis, and they are used with conventional ski boots. Snowblades can be used for learning to ski, carving big turns, floating through powder, spinning 360's, and catching big air. Because of their dwarf size, Snowblades are extremely easy to use.

What's the difference between men's and women's ski boots?
Women's-specific ski boots accommodate lower calf muscles, narrower heels, wider balls of the feet, and smaller foot volumes. Nub's Nob has fitted each pair of women's-specific and junior boots with heel lifts to help accommodate heel slippage that arises from narrow heels.
