We've got lots in store for our park riders and skiers this upcoming winter as the park gets a bit of a makeover. You'll see more rails than ever, a new spine element, several step down jumps at the top of the steep section on the rider's left, a relocation of the skier/boarder cross course from Southwest Passage into the park itself with more banked turns and a longer course and the 2nd smaller pipe will be back again. Of course the Midwest's first Superpipe will be back opening as soon as the weather allows. You will not see any tabletop jumps this winter as we, and every other northern Michigan ski area we know of, have decided to eliminate them from the park. This was done for two reasons: the high cost of making and maintaining these difficult elements and the associated risk they carry. While the tabletops will be missed by some, we'll be working hard to keep the fun meter pegged with the new elements we're adding.
