2014-2015 NUB’S NOB

SPECIAL EVENTS CALENDAR!

October 4 – Annual Nub’s Nob Open House with demo ski sale, discounts on equipment tune ups, free chair lift rides and a cook out, also Harbor Springs Ski Boosters Ski Swap.  10 to 4 p.m.  The office will be open to process season tickets at our 10% off sale. Ski swap is from 9 am - 2 pm.

October 10 - Cutoff date for 10% pre-season discount on the best season ticket value in the Midwest!  Passes are still available after this date at regular prices.

Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27 – Weather permitting, we plan to open today!

Early Season Discount Lift Ticket Period. From opening day until December 7th enjoy the best in early season skiing at reduced rates.

Nov. 29 - Thanksgiving Weekend Rail Jam for Manna  sponsored by Skull Candy.  11 am with all registration fees and food stuffs donated to the Manna Food Project of Petoskey.

Nov. 29 - Nub's Nob Alpine Racing (NNR) Weekend Alpine Training begins on Race Arena (weather permitting) and runs every Saturday and Sunday from 9 am - 10:30 and Noon - 1:30 through March 14th. Call NNR at 800-SKI-NUBS for more details.

Dec. 6 & 7 - United States Ski Association Central Division training weekend  Open to all qualified USSA members. Contact your club coach for more details.

Dec. 13 & 14 - United States Ski Association Central Division FIS Slalom races on Scarface.  Open to all qualified USSA members. Contact Cathy Janowiak at (231) 723-8772

Dec. 20, 21, & 22 - United States Ski Association Central Division FIS races on Scarface.  Open to all qualified USSA members. Contact Cathy Janowiak at (231) 723-8772.

Dec. 26 - 31 Nub's Nob Alpine Racing (NNR) Holiday Training Camp features 6 days of the best training and coaching for serious ski racers of all ages. Call the Winter Sport School for more information at 800-SKI-NUBS.

Dec. 26 - Holiday Night Skiing & Riding begins and runs from 6 to 10 p.m. through January 3 with the exception of New Year’s Eve.  Our regular night skiing calendar then begins on Monday, January 5 and runs every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4 till 9pm and Friday and Saturday from 6 till 10pm until March 14th.  We are also open for holiday night skiing on Sunday January 18 and February 15 from 6 till 10 p.m.

Jan. 2 through 31 - DISCOVER MICHIGAN SKIING & SNOWBOARDING! Promotion begins with special incentives for first-time beginner skiers & snowboarders.  Call the Winter Sport School for details at 800-SKI-NUBS.

Jan. 4- Nub's Nob Ski Academy- Sunday afternoon sessions start and run through February 22, 2015. 2:00 - 4:00 pm ages 6 - 14. Call the Winter Sport School at 800-SKI-NUBS for more details.

Jan. 5- Night Skiing begins and runs every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday until March 14th from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and 4 till 9 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.  We are also open for holiday night skiing on Sunday, January 18 and February 15 from 6 till 10 p.m.

Jan. 5 – Nub’s Nob Alpine Racing (NNR) Weekday Night Training begins on Scarface and runs every Monday and Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8pm through March 11th. Call NNR at 800-SKI-NUBS for more details.

Jan. 5 -  Junior Alpine Racing Team (JART) Monday night training sessions start and run Mondays and Wednesdays through March 4, 2015.  6 – 7:30pm ages 5-14. Call the Winter Sports School at 800-SKI-NUBS for more details.

Jan. 5 - Labatt Adult Race Leagues start. 34th year of fun league racing continues every Monday, Wednesday & Thursday night until March 12, 2015.

Jan. 7 - Nub's Nob Ski Academy Wednesday night sessions start and run through February 25, 2015.  6:00 – 8:00pm ages 6-14. Call the Winter Sports School at 800-SKI-NUBS for more details.

Jan. 9 - Nub's Nob Ski Academy Friday night sessions start and run through February 27, 2015. 6:00 - 8:00 pm ages 6 - 14. Call the Winter Sport School at 800-SKI-NUBS for more details.

Jan.. 9 – Volkl/Marker/Sunice Speed Series.  7:00 p.m. Giant Slalom Racing on Valley.  7 race series open to advanced skiers age 9 and up.  Prizes at the end of series for top three in each age class and top three overall. Jan. 10 - Ski Academy Saturday afternoon sessions begin for ages  6 - 14 from 2 - 4 pm through 2/28/15. Call the Winter Sport School at 800-SKI-NUBS for more details.

Jan. 17 - "Learn to Jib" in the beginner park from 1 to 3pm.  No cost, release form required.

Jan. 25 – City of Petoskey Ski and Snowboard Program - A learn to ski and snowboard program on 3 consecutive Sundays geared to the whole family.  Contact the Petoskey Parks and Rec Department at 347-2500.

Jan. 27, 28, and 29 27th Annual 70+ Ski Club Midwest Get-Together. Contact Sue and Lou Fantini at (231) 347-5061 for information and registration.

Jan. 28 - Petoskey High School MHSAA BNC Conference ski meet begins at 1pm on Smokey and Scarface.

Jan. 30 Harbor Springs High School Ski Team Italian Dinner Fundraiser begins at 5pm in the cafeteria.

Feb. 5Harbor Springs High School MHSAA Conference ski meet begins at 5 pm on Smokey and Valley.

Feb. 6 – Volkl/Marker/Sunice Speed Series.  7:00 p.m.  GS Racing on Smokey. 7 race series open to advanced skiers age 9 and up.  Prizes at the end of series for top three in each age class and top three overall. Feb. 8 - Nordica Winter Rally Event - For participating Junior Racer Club members at 9:30am

Feb. 14, 15 & 16 - Presidents’ Day holiday period.

Feb. 14 - Beat the Local (Games of S.N.O.W.)!  Beat the local is a one of a kind event you will find only at Nub's.  Based around the basketball game of P.I.G., contestants compete against each other other and a group of Nub's locals, to set and match tricks (much like making and matching a shot on the basketball court). Be the last entrant standing and be crowned the new winner of Beat the Local.

Feb. 15 - Our Annual Demo Ski Sale begins!  Take advantage of the best pricing anywhere on our slightly used but not abused 2015 demo ski fleet.  All skis come fully tuned by our Wintersteiger Mercury machine and include a binding adjustment to fit your boots and a release test.  This is a great way to update your skis with top shelf gear at bargain basement prices.  Visit our web page for a listing of our Demo gear and get here early as the skis go fast!

Feb. 20 – Volkl/Marker/Sunice Speed Series Race. 7:00 p.m.  Super G on Smokey. 7 race series open to advanced skiers age 9 and up.  Prizes at the end  of the series for top three in each age class and top three overall. February 28The 2nd Annnual K2 Banked Slalom – A very distinctive turn fest on a very unique course.  All are welcome from skiers to boarders and our free heel friends.  The motto of this inimitable race is “RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG!”  $8 entry fee. Sponsored by K2 Skis with a grand prize drawing for new K2s!

February 28 – Enjoy entertainer Pete Kehoein Nub’s Pub from 3 to 6 pm.

March 1 - "Beat Your Parents" race and Ski Academy Picnic - The local favorite "Beat Your Parents" head to head GS race and picnic party on Birch Run for our Ski Academy and JART participants, parents, and coaches. 2 pm start.

March 6 – Volkl/Marker/Sunice Speed Series  Race. 7:00 p.m. Giant Slalom Racing on Scarface. 7 race series open to advanced skiers age 9 and up.  Prizes at the end of the series for top three in each age class and top three overall. Registration at the front desk until 6:20 p.m. For more information call 800-SKI-NUBS. 

March 7 - The Dynastar/Lange Challenge – Giant slalom racing for skiers of all ages and abilities.  $8 entry fee.  Sponsored by Dynastar Skis and Lange ski boots with a grand prize drawing for a pair of Dynastar skis!

March 7 – Enjoy entertainer Mike Ridley in Nub’s Pub from 3 to 6 pm.

March 14 to 22– Canadian Discount Period – Show us your Canadian drivers license and save $15 on your adult and $10 on your teen and child full day lift ticket when paying in US funds!  Don’t forget that kids 9 to 12 ski for only $10 on non-holiday weekdays when accompanied by a skiing parent and kids 8 and under ski for free when accompanied by a skiing adult.

March 14 The 53rd Annual Nub’s Nob Open – Northern Michigan’s premier slalom racing event.  Top to bottom World Cup style slalom racing on Birch Run and Smokey. $8 entry fee. This race also counts for participants in the season-long Volkl/Marker/Sunice Speed Series as race # 6.

March 14 - Enjoy entertainer Pete Kehoe in Nub's Pub from 3 to 6pm

March 15 - Volkl/Marker/Sunice Speed Series Race. 9:30am  Super G Racing on Sno Pro. Championship final in 7 event series. Open to advanced skiers age 9 and up.  Series and Championship awards to top 3 finishers in this Super G. Awards for Age/Gender classes and Overall follow this race.  Series awards are courtsey of Volkl/Marker/Sunice.

March 16 Late Season Spring Discount Period Begins - Come enjoy the best in Michigan spring skiing & snowboarding at reduced rates through the end of the season.

March 16 – Spring Ski & Ride promotion begins! Your lift tickets are included in your lodging rate when staying at one of the participating lodging properties in the greater Petoskey/Harbor Springs area.  Call the Convention and Visitors Bureau at 800-845-2828 for participating hotels, motels, condominiums, chalets and lodges. March 21 – Enjoy entertainer Patrick Ryan in Nub’s Pub from 3 to 6 pm

March 21 – Mardi Gras – Our annual Spring Fling with fun and games for all.  Don’t miss the Soaker Cup, Costume contest, Crazy couples, face painting, Dorie Sarns Open races and the Petoskey Steel Drum Band on the deck!

March 22 - The Return of the Super Fun Park! Spend the day in the newly shaped park as we celebrate spring. With a special park being designed for this event you can expect a great day of spring riding with your friends amidst a laid back day of impromptu contest like the Jump Line Jam, High Ollie Contest, Longest Manual, Rail Jams and much more! Music and Food in the sponsor tent village all day and special prizes for the best rider/skier of the day!

April 5 - The annual Nub's Nob Telebration returns featuring a fun day filled with demo's, tele turns, swill and chill for all our free heel friends.  Contact Josh Baker at The Outfitter at (231) 526-2621 for info and registration.

April 5 – Last scheduled day of skiing and riding!
