WHAT'S NEW AT NUB'S!
More gladed tree skiing – We are opening two new expert only gladed tree skiing areas similar to the Southern Comfort Glade featuring natural terrain and Mother Nature’s finest snow. The Tower Glades have a new run on the north section featuring tighter trees and a wind protected pitch. This glade area is accessed from the Ramblewood run and requires a short hike up to a new peak opened up for the first time last year. This “hike in only” access offers a unique experience as the snow here will be less cut up than on our lift served glades. We also added a gladed section to the Bayview run on Nub’s Nob South. This slope should hold snow quite well due to its close proximity to the Bayview snowguns.
More skiable acres – We widened the top half of the Whitefish run on Pintail Peak and added a permanent line of snowguns on the north side of the slope. This will allow us to open the area earlier and maintain the snow quality all season long while opening up more of the stunning views of Little Traverse Bay and increasing the skiable terrain.
More Snowmaking Power - Continuing our tradition of the "Midwest's Best Snow!" we once again expanded our world class snowmaking system. 15 additional Nub's Nob snowmaking guns were built this summer bringing our total gun count to 242. This system, in the hands of the Midwest’s most experienced snowmaking and grooming team, allowed us to open up with more slopes last season and stay 100% open longer than any other lower Michigan area.
Nub’s Rated Michigan’s Best Ski Resort again by the Detroit News! - Thanks to all our skiers and riders, Nub’s Nob was voted the number one ski resort AGAIN by the readers of The Detroit News in their latest edition of the “Michigan’s Best” reader’s poll! This was the second time Nub’s Nob has captured the top spot in this survey, having grabbed the #1 ranking for the first time during the 2003 season.
